I just went off birthcontrol this month and waiting for my period to come (is that going to take a while now?). Also is there anything that I should know or do being just off of the pill? My crazy hormones are back, and are making me quite emotional (on the depressed side).

From a pharmacy point of view, you probably will menstruate soon, anywhere from 48 hours to 6 months after discontinuing therapy. Sometimes after discontinuing the pill you might not menstruate for months, but only happens in a small percentage of patients. Ovulation should resume in most women during their first three post-treatment cycles.

i was on the pill for 5 years, quit in november. i had my period like normal right after. then that was the last period i had until february. i actually went back on the pill last month because i have only had 3 periods since stopping birth control, and it has been very erratic and irregular. a little annoying, to say the least! how long were you on bc?
