Sep. 10th, 2005 11:50 pmI just got in from work, so I'm a bit late in seeing some of the comments and I wanted to take a moment to respond .. :)
But I would check on that "inducing a period to reduce the risk of cancer" idea. What is it about NOT having a period that induces cancer?
My GYN and endo both told me that going without a period for long periods of time increase your risks of cancer. However, every doctor believes something different in regards to what length of time between periods is healthy. My GYN subscribes to the belief that a woman she get a period at least once every three months. So, since we took me off of the pill due to my high blood pressure, I have been on a ten day cycle of Provera every three months. We were hoping the Provera would help my body find its own natural rythm, but no luck.
I cannot be put back on the combo pill because of my blood pressure. I was told that this progesterone only pill should not affect my blood pressure. But, like I said, the research I have done into Microner has me worried. I'd like to be back on the pill for the protection, but also to regulate my periods - no pill, no period! I don't think this pill is for me if it will not make my peroid show up with any kind of regularity.
So, then what other choices do I have? I need something that doesn't have the estrogen and will regulate my cycles. Maybe I should just continue with the cycles of Provera and attempt to use condoms religiously. I'm just not all that great with condoms and now that I'm moving in with my fiancee, I know we'll get lazy. Sigh.
..Thanks..
