My husband and I are trying to get pregnant. I recently started taking prenatal pills to try to help us along a little. Anywho my question is can/will prenatal pills have some sort of affect on your period? Mine is usually heavy, extremely heavy all 5-6 days, well this month it was only heavy for two days and barely spotty for 3-4 days.

Prenatals shouldn't affect your period, I wouldn't think (also, just in case you don't know, they won't help you get pregnant either, unfortunately--don't I wish!).

If you're concerned that they *are* affecting your period, you can try taking just a plain folic acid supplement instead.

sounds like they are affecting it good:)
could maybe less than great nutrition have been making them heavy & the vitamins help?

If they contain B vitamins (I believe it's 6 and 12, not sure though), that can make your luteal phase (and thus your cycle) longer. I don't know if they affect (or effect? can never keep those straight) your actual period though.

I don't know that prenatal vitamins will help you concieve. I know that they just provide the right vitamins for those that want to be pregnant.
