Hi all:

so it's the second day of my period. i have leak problems sometimes at night, so i went to sleep last night with:
1. an overnight pad on with a liner stuck horizontally onto my underwear right in front of the very front of the pad and right behind the very back for extra coverage lengthwise.
2. cotton swab shoved in my buttcrack (someone here suggested it) because blood sometimes trickles there -hehe
3. a super tampon (for about 8 hours)

I STILL LEAKED and ruined my underwear.

i'm really out of solutions and patience. i don't want to dislike having my period, i want to respect it, but things like this make me really frustrated.

any ideas? i'm not a particularly heavy bleeder, but i guess i roll around during the night, so i bleed then too.

would you be willing to forego all of the above, and just let it go, since its not working? I have a friend that sleeps naked on towels. Of course, you'll be washing towels/sheets every night, but I prefer that over always leaking through tampons/pads.

Maybe designate two pair of underwear your bleeding underwear. Wash them by hand each morning, alternately so they dry out. Either keep wearing tampons, pads--or don't and assume leakage and be ready to clean them.

I didn't check to see your age. If you live at home, or don't have cool roomates, these might work later on!

My personal response has been to implement bloody underwear and hand-washing. Once I got used to the idea of leaking, i was ok with it. Sometimes I wear vinyl type shorts I also hand wash.

I have been sleeping alone, so that helps too.

Peroxide removes blood stains well.

Also, human slaiva breaks down the blood- its like magic!

Personally, I sleep in my biggest tightest underpants witha huge, extra long thick pad. And I sleep on a folded towel so I don't leak onto the sheets.

I tried that, never made it through the night, too uncomfortable, couldn't breathe down there, changed. Eventually I just accepted leaks as a fact of the month and wash in the morning.

Maybe when I have my own place, I'll sleep in the bathtub.
