Holy god. this is my first month on Loestrin. they put me on it to help with the heavy HEAVY flow and cramps. my period before this would last 4-6 days until it was all the way gone. i have only been having my period this month for 2 and a half days and i think it is almost completely gone!

is this really normal? sounds too good to be true.

As with all meds, it takes a little bit for your body to get used to them. This is a med that's made to affect your menstrual cycle, so your hormones and female organs are going, "Wait a minute! This is something new!" Sometimes, it takes a week, up to 3 weeks I've heard, for a birth control, hormone replacement therapy, or any kind of female medicine to take effect. If it's really becoming a nuisance, the best advice I can think of is to talk to your doctor.

Hope it all works out for you!!

I hear ya!! But, not to worry you, keep a close eye on it, as that could be dangerous!! Every woman's body is different, but just a precaution!!!

The lining of your uterus is "shed" when you have your period, right?? That's what all that tissue being discharged out of your body is. If women don't have that, it gets built up, and can cause a lot of problems.

I've tried depo once, didn't work out for me. I'd heard all this stuph about "you don't have a period on this, it's great!" I guess I didn't give myself enough chance to get used to it. :-(

As for the current situation you're in, you've got a good point there. Didn't think of that part. Sorry. :-) I do hope it continues to work out for you.
