left ovary tenderness?

hey everyone -
days before i'm about to get my period, i feel slight tenderness/dull pains where i think my ovaries would be. is that normal? this month, the pain is a bit more noticeable. could anyone help explaining to me what's going on? thanks for your help.

I've been getting that too. Well, it hasn't been slight, like sometimes it's just a small discomfort, but sometimes it makes me curl up in a ball and such.

I figured it's cause last month my period got all messed up because it was my first period after I quit smoking and got on the nic patch, like it came a week early, and now, my body like went back to normal but because I was early last week, there's some like weird stuff going on with the inner reportutive workings or something, lol, not sure.

So, like has your period been totally regular for the last month or so? If it hasn't, then it could be the same thing that's going on with me (mabye not the cig stuff, but some other reason perhaps).

my period for the month of august was supposed to happen during the final week of the month, but it didn't. instead, it happened during the first week of september. i attributed the inconsistency to the stress of starting school and whatnot. my periods are fairly regular, so i assumed that i would be getting my next period during the last week of september/first week of october, which is around right now (obviously).

i have experienced these kinds of ovary pains before, but not to this degree. it isn't a painful kind of pain. it is dull and lingering, but worse than i remember them to be. i just figured that the pain was due to ovulation, but was worried since i was really taking note of how uncomfortable it made me.

my boyfriend and i had an accident and i needed to take emergency contraception pills. i took those this past wednesday. (all of these events have taken place around the same time, so my body/ovaries must be freaking out) i am thinking that, that is also a reason for my ovarian discomfort.

yeah, that could be it too, like all the hormonal change from the emergency contraception maybe? Like you can't really take my word for it cause it's not like I'm a doc or anything, lol.
