Hey I just joined this community and I looked through the memories for a late period.

I put myself back on the patch (ortho-trievra or whatever it's called) and I put on Wendesday three weeks ago and then my sister said, "You should've put it on Sunday," so I put it on Sunday and I was suppose to have my period at the end of September. Now it's been a few days and I'm worried, I had sex with my boyfriend two weeks ago and we did use a condom.
But I'm worried that I might be pregnant or that my cycle is screwed up due to changing my patch on those said days. :( I'm willing to try the parsley tea to kick start my period though.

Any suggestions or input? Please help!

I don't want to try [livejournal.com profile] amipregnant, they would've just sent me over here anyway. :(

It's probably due to the patch issues, since you did use a condom. If you were unsure about the patch, though, I'd recommend reading the information that came with it and also talking to your doctor, instead of your sister next time. How late are you, by the way?

don't get stressed, indeed it is most likely the patch. you see, it doesn't actually matter if you put it on wednesday or sunday, what matters is that you put it on and keep it on for 7 days, then keep using new patches continuously for AT LEAST 3 weeks (though more can work, less cannot). so... if sunday is easier for you to remember, start on sunday, but if you want to start another day, there's nothing wrong with that.

from your post i can't tell whether you took off the patch you had on on wednesday and put it back on on sunday or whether you just put on a new one on sunday or what exactly. all i can tell you is that you need to be on hormonal birth control for at least 7 days to be protected from pregnancy, so if you were on the patch for at least 7 days before you had sex, then you'd be protected not only by the condom but also by the patch (making it virtually impossible for you to be pregnant).

-p.s. the nice thing about amipregnant is they have that survey that clarifies all the little details to make it easy to answer your question. :-)

amipegnant wouldnt have 'only sent you over here', they would have done their best to answer your question.

stress will certainly affect your periods, as will the changes in hormones from your patch (and the couple of patchfree days).

I don't quite understand how you went about changing your patch day from Wednesday to Saturday but that will definitely screw you up. I changed mine from Tuesday to Friday in my first month or two on the patch and I spotted for like 3 and a half months.

I don't think it REALLY screwd you up... it's normal for your body to have a hard time adjusting the first month or two that you're suddenly dumping extra hormones into your system. Anyhow, if you were supposed to start your period on the 28th and you two had sex the week before, I have a feeling that you would probably still be having your period this month...

Just start hoarding tampons and keeping them under your bed so they don't notice anything suspicious is going on. But really, if they get suspisious about it just explain to them that your bod had a little confusion over the patch and it'll take a month or to for it to chill out again.

Keep in mind that they tea thing might not work either (plus it tastes like open ass on a hot day), so don't let that freak you out MORE if it doesn't work. Just remind yourself that girly parts are a little fussy and whatever is happening will smooth itself out with a little patience.

Just for future reference, try the tea a couple times if you must and then let it go... there IS such thing as too much.
