my period started today.
every month that it starts, it's really really irregular ;_;
spots a little for a few days, then comes out in full flow and then my womb explodes (or that's what it feels like, hehee)
then i started wondering, does the spotting have anything to do with my diet?
i eat very little, and sometimes get frustrated when my period begins and think "awww i didn't even get to do any iron build-up this month!"
and my face gets really off-coloured and sleepy. and moody.

do you follow a specific diet routine to keep the blood cells pumpin'?

p.s. i also have a back-problem, and it starts to ache whenever my flow is really heavy. could it be related?

try iron supplements every day? and perhaps eat a bit more - eating too little causes menstrual problems.

Lots of green & leafy things are high in iron. Also iron supplements, but you might want to take calcium too, because that will help your body absorb the iron.

But be careful, because they do sell iron/calcium combo pills but I've been reading that there isn't enough calcium in those to do any good so they're as good as taking nothing.

As for the back thing, mine hurts when I'm bleedin' too. Heating pads should be your friend!

Sleepy, moody, washed out looking skin, & heavy flow are all signs of anemia. You can self-treat that but it's really best diagnosed and handled by a medical professional. I work with a woman who let her anemia spin out of control and she's having MAJOR issues now that she's at that age where she should be beginning early menopause.
