Is it "normal" to have a pink-ish discharge mid-cycle? My periods have never been regular, the past few months my cycles gone to 42 days when it was usually 28 days at the beginning of the year, and along with this I keep getting this discharge for 2-3 days. Sometimes it's light pink and other times (like today) it's white with tiny little dots of blood in it. My DR and acu-DR are both really blasé about it, even with all the troubles I have with my bowels/tilted "bulky+thickly lined" uterus at the minute. Meh, I just want a girls opinion.

Also my period blood is always pretty fresh red/thin from start to finish, no mucus/clots etc.

(I'm not on birth control)

yes. you can have bloodish discharge when you ovulate.

Thats about when you'd ovulate then. Its about 15 days before your period is due.

she's probably right :D usually you ovulate a couple weeks before you get your period.

It's still entirely possible that you have not ovulated yet (unless you know for sure you have through charting basal body temperature), especially since your cycles have gotten longer. I vote for ovulation spotting too.

I would agree with the commenter below, unless you're charting BBT and other fertility signs, it's very likely part of ovulation. On a 42 day cycle, day 27 is 15 days before menstruation, and ovulation happening about 14 days before (usually between day 12 and 16) it sounds very much like ovulation.

White/clear discharge is normal, throughout your cycle. Ovulation is usually accompanied by a change in the texture of the discharge to something stretchier and more eggwhite like.

white/clear mucusy eggwhite-ish discharge equals fertile times aka ovulation :) you're just experiencing ovulatory spotting, totally normal.

my theory is that maybe over the past two weeks, your hormone levels were close to the thresholds for ovulation, but didn't quite get there, but were high enough for the white/clear fertile discharge. And now that you're getting the spots of blood/faint pinkishness, you've actually ovulated.
