Amateur Photographers? anyone???

I will probably post this query elsewhere but it just occurred to me today that all the hundreds of thousands of hits one finds on google for "Caught on tape" and all the camcorders that are currently being sold, there might somewhere be a website for amateur photographers and cameramen to share their experiences and ideas for what to shoot next.

This may sound really lame at first but it seems to me that such a site would essentially fill the void between supply and demand. I've heard lots of stories about frequent vandalism or assault in one place that might be completely avoided were some civil-minded micro-heros willing to stake out a location with their camcorders.

If anyone knows of such a website (or wishes to start a community aimed at this goal), my first thought is to employ them in the pro-choice campaign, both aiming them at pharmacists not filling prescriptions and assaultive protesters at abortion clinics, but I'm sure there will be lots of other uses for them.
