I have a bit of a problem. I've been overdue for my period for about a week and a half--no red or even brown whatsoever. I have, however, been cramping as if I had it for about the same amount of time. I have headaches every day, backaches whenever I exert myself in any way (which on a daily basis usually consists only of walking 10 minutes to my classes, carrying a 10-pound bookbag), and almost constant sleepiness (not exactly fatigue, but a longing to go to sleep and a heaviness in the eyelids). I am sexually active, but my boyfriend is cautious to the point of paranoia, and has never touched me below the waist with his penis unless he had a condom on it. So I'm wondering: where did my period go?

I am not on BC, but I am on Paxil for anxiety and occasionally take half an Ambien to help me sleep. I am in grad school (in Southern Mississippi, which was hit by Hurricane Katrina--I didn't have any damage to home or family, but I have friends who did), so understandably I do have quite a bit of stress (including the fact that my mean old landlady made me send my beloved kitty cat home to my parents'). I also have an icky vag-history--my first Pap smear came back squamous epithelial dysplasia, and I underwent acid treatments for about a year and a half for that. However, I have only missed a period for this length of time once before, but I was 16 (I'm 25 now). (This is really gross, but besides all the aforementioned symptoms, I also have a horrid-smelling clear discharge, and lots of it--I go through 3 pairs of panties a day some days).

So, what do y'all think: am I pregnant, infected with something, or just going insane with stress? I'm going to the doc in the morning, but I want as many options as possible. I wouldn't mind being pregnant, but this would be a really inconvenient time. ^_^

Thanks in advance to everyone who responds. Also posted this at vaginapagina.

That is typical for a bacterial infection. I'd suggest taking this to a professional as you might need antibiotics. Whether it can delay your period is a whole 'nother thing though...

Double with that, although I don't see it delaying...but fishy = BV which is treated by antibiotics. This is not an STD, just an imbalance (which sex can cause) like yeasties. Your doc should swab and diagnos and then prescribe, or in the case of my doc, prescribe just in case.

i'd guess that your period is delayed because of stress - but i agree with Mangosorbet007, the discharge sounds like either a bacterial or a yeast infection and needs to be seen by a doctor.

To deal with the discharge until you see a health professional you could wear pantiliners.. Carefree has a variety of lengths and shapes. They're lightweight and also come scented and unscented.
