Oct. 7th, 2001 10:18 pmWell period two since I've been taking BCP has come and gone. It was almost painless. I only had cramps the first day and those were very mild. Aspirin made them disappear. I'm loving this. I was thinking though, I'm going to eventually want kids some day. This will be far in the future seeing as I'm not even married yet and still in school, but I know that I do want them. When I stop taking birth control I assume that the cramps will come back. Has anyone had to deal with this problem? What did you do?

Date: 2001-10-08 05:52 am (UTC)sometimes (oftentimes she said) if there is severe cramping for no *other* reason (eg fibroids, cysts, endometriosis, etc), then it's just because the hormones in the body haven't had time to straighten themselves out yet and b/c helps because it does just that, in a rather major way. So if you are in late teens/early twenties, being on b/c for a couple years might help by straightening the body's hormones and giving the body more time to mature.. and in a couple of years the cramps may have let up some...
which no, is not always the case, but i believe the doc that it is at least sometimes (i hope so!)...
