I'm having a weird issue. For the past couple days, I've been having light cramps. They feel exactly like what happens to me during PMS. In fact, the day before yesterday, I was also feeling the total tiredness/exhaustion I usually feel the day before my period starts too, coupled with mild feelings of queasiness that popped up every so often. The weird part is that my period is 3 weeks away. So why am I feeling these PMS symptoms?

Of course, my first, fearful, paranoid thought was, what if I'm pregnant? But, the thing is - I just had a period. And haven't had sex since then. Which is why I'm so confused!

I am on the pill, too, but I did mess up a little on taking it the same time every day the last pack (and missed one day and had to take it the next morning when I remembered). That, coupled with random stories of, "Oh I still got my period when I was pregnant!" are freaking me out. So, a few questions:

Can being on the pill make you still have period-like flow even if you get pregnant? Like, would my body still want to stick to the plan, so to speak, from being so used to having my period like clockwork every month? Or is the fact that I feel like I had a normal period mean that there is no chance I'm pregnant and I'm just being horribly paranoid?

Perhaps more to the point, could having distinct PMS symptoms at a non-PMS time be indicative of something other than pregnancy? And if so, what? It's weirding me out.

Any answer would be appreciated, because I'm just keeping my thoughts in my own head and letting them repeat over and over, which is making me feel rather wacky. Any input from others at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

if you had a period, and havent had sex since, you're not pregnant.

you dont have a period (shedding of uterine lining and unfertilised egg) when you're pregnant (as that would kind of defeat the object ;) ), you might spot but that's different.

you could be having PMS symptoms because of your missed Pill - sometimes that throws the menstrual cycle 'off' for a while.

however, you might want to ask the helpful and knowledgeable ladies at [livejournal.com profile] am_i_pregnant or [livejournal.com profile] femmehealth because they know far more than i do :)
