non-period bleeding
Dec. 13th, 2005 10:36 pmWell, I kind of came to this in a round about way (saw it mentioned on sextips community) but actually I've recently come by a concern with my period, sort of.
Actually I've been "bleeding" for the past two weeks approximately. It's not really bleeding, it's more like fairly continous spotting, somewhat of an off color red/brownish. I was worrying about it a lot until my boyfriend was actually sweet enough to look it up for me, and it seems like it just happens sometimes, usually goes away, often "reseting" with the next period. But I was wondering if anyone else here has had this happen and could give me some personal experience advice.

Date: 2005-12-14 11:53 am (UTC)If you're having breakthrough bleeding quite consistently and irregular cycles you might well want to see a doctor to make sure that everything is okay. I say this only because conditions like PCOS (polycystic ovaries) can cause very irregular cycles and PCOS in particular *can* affect your likelihood of conceiving, as can thyroid problems, which can also throw your cycle out of whack. Spotting can be perfectly normal but long-term spotting seems like it might be indicative of a larger health issue to me and is worth checking out for your peace of mind, if nothing else!
