Does anyone have any info on failure rates of birth control pills vs. condoms? I'm trying to decide between two forms of birth control and want to make the right decision.
The pill is about 99% effective if you take it properly.
Condoms are 97% effective.
Also - just a quick question - why would you want to use condoms if you're in a monogamous, STD-free relationship? Get yourself on the pill and say goodbye to latex ;)
I don't know if you also want to consider other forms. For example - the modern spiral is 99.9% effective and lasts 5 years. If you want kids, you get it taken out and you're pretty much fertile straight away. The drawbacks are however that it can fall out and it's not suitable for every woman, because it can cause TSS.
Coming off the pill takes about a month before you're fertile again, just BTW.
