I tried doing some research to see if tea might be a reason why my face breaks out so much (especially my chin). My tea consumption has been way up during the fall and winter, and my chin has refused to clear up. My research has produced mixed results.. What do all of you think?

Tea and caffeine trigger my father's rosacea.

My husband's acne seems to benefit from increased green/white/oolong tea consumption.

I don't know if this is actually true, but I was told by someone who worked in the health food aisle of a store I went to once that a lot of acne on your chin means you're constipated.

I wouldn't put much trust in that. Especially since I've had diarrhea and chin breakouts at the same time, and since there's no logical way for fecal bacteria in the intestines to escape them short of a ruptured or perforated intestine, and if that was to happen, yet only cause acne as opposed to systemic infection and death.

So don't bother with laxatives or worse to clear up your complexion. It won't work.

I don't think she was trying to suggest that fecal bacteria was escaping the intestines and causing acne. I think it's more along the lines of something going on in your body causing symptom n. Like how your hair can get brittle if you're not getting enough of certain vitamins. That sort of thing.
Like I said though, I don't know if it's true.

I wasn't suggesting to try laxatives to clear up your complexion, either.

I've found that salicylic acid works really well for me, for acne. I tried benzoyl peroxide, but my skin developed a sensitivity to it. If I use it now, I look like a lobster by morning. My face turns red and blotchy all over, and itches like crazy.
I really like St. Ives medicated (it has salicylic acid in it) apricot scrub.
