How many of the women here who have female issues... How many of you bleed on a daily basis and wear pads? Because with the last two months I have these sores that come and go, and a discoloring of my labia.. I have been checked out and been told I am okay no STD's and that they do not know why there is the discoloration, or the sores.. But what I was wondering.. If you always bleed.. And I mean ALWAYS, and you always wear a pad anymore instead of a tampon because it hurts too much to wear it.. Have you found that you have issues because of this??

i wear pantiliners on a daily basis for bladder reasons, but i do get spotting probably half the days of the month because of having a Mirena IUD. i don't have any issues because of it though, i mean aside from embarassment... maybe not sure what you mean by "issues"...

i have to say i am really confused by your post - to me, having bleeding on a daily basis, having sores that come and go, etc. sounds highly unusual. how much evaluation have you had? i'm just a medical student so i sometimes get blown away by normal stuff, but that just sounds crazy to me. who did you see about this? did you see an actual GYN physician? what tests were done? i guess it's really hard for me to judge your case given that i don't know your medical history and details... it just sounds really wacky.

are you saying that you bleed every day and wear pads and you think that might be what's causing the sores and discoloration? because that would make more sense to me, if you are wearing bulky pads that can certainly be irritating to your skin. i've rubbed the insides of my legs raw with pads, back when i used to bleed heavily enough to need them.

>> She said it just might be something I have to deal with

Never ever accept that from a doctor unless she or he is the top expert in the field and has been treating you for several decades!!!

I agree that just telling you that you may have to deal with it is crap. Absolute crap. She is just a general Dr. I'd find a new general Dr who knows how to recommend you to (or do some research finding you) a specialized Dr. Please don't accept her judgement on this.

Definitely see a specialist if you can. There is no reason to accept a shrug and a pat on the shoulder for something as serious and life-complicating as this sounds like it is.

I can't wear anything but 100% cotton pads because otherwise I get weird reactions. For example, Always with Dry-weave? Totally can not wear those.

Have you tried switching to organic cotton, plastic free, pads? The bleaches and chemicals used to make the mainstream pads can cause havoc and make it more difficult for your skin to breathe. It's obviously a challenge for your skin to breathe anyway, given that you're wearing pads 365 days of the year... so give your body a break.

Also, I don't quite understand why your doctors aren't concerned that you're bleeding this heavily 24/7 without even a few days off a month. Yeah, I get that you have Endo, but most Docs would do something more constructive about it than shrug.

That definitely doesn't sound normal or something you should have to deal with. I'd really recommend getting another opinion (or two, or twelve, or however many it takes to fix the problem).

I can't really relate, but as for the sores and discoloration - I had this problem once and holy ick, what a pain. It was like I had a sunburn or something and all of that sensitive skin was cracking and some of the craps were even oozing little mini drops of blood. The only time I felt relief was the 20 minutes after changed my panty liner or got out of the shower. Same as you, it definitely wasn't an STD and I had never had a yeast infection but I knew this was something different.

As it turns out I was ALLERGIC to the Kotex products I was using. I RAN to the store and picked up some Natracare brand ones and haven't looked back. Something about the dyes and the rayon top layer crap that Kotex uses just upset the hell out of my skin.

You might want to look into that. Good luck.

i had my period constantly for 3 months last year, and i won't use tampons so i got developed the sort of sores you described as well. The best cure is to let the area 'breathe' (take a break from being surrounded by the products and have proper air flow), but i guess that is difficult if you bleed non stop! Perhaps there is an ointment you could use. I don't know of any so i can't help in that way. But perhaps using pads made out of the most natural fibre you can find? From experience i find those plastic-y ones being the ones that cause the most irritation.

I hope it gets better, sores are really irritating.
