...I didn't know the GIRL POEM was going to offend anyone. I thought it was humourous, and thought people would get a laugh. Sorry. I hope the hut can forgive me. :-)

I think the point was made - this should be over with.

After all, what's the point of the hut if we snark at each other while reposing here?

agreed! but maybe stuff like that would be better if posted in other communities, no?

True - there are better communities to post this sort of thing in.

No arguments about the substance of the commentary made. Just about the quantity.

well, sure, I can forgive you if I think you understand WHY that was offensive. Stereotypes are really never good, even if they look like they're stereotyping a "positive" thing. Every time you give voice to a stereotype you justify its existance to those who beieve that it is true. The less often we voice them the better a place the world will be. That's not "political correctness" - it's intelligence.

I don't think there is any reason for anyone to hold a grudge. Not everyone is going to like what everyone else has to say (or even like their sense of humour). Gawd, what a saccharine world it would be if we all did - sickening.

Don't sweat it - we're hutting in harmony, yes?

I thought it was funny too, but hey.... I'm premenopausal and have teenagers, I find a lot of things amusing anymore that I didn't when I was younger.

Thanks, the ribbon is in honor of my eldest daughter, Jessica. She is a Petty Officer serving aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt and presently in or headed to the Persian Gulf.

Wow... interesting coincidence. That's first time I have seen the name spelled Jessyka!

I hope that all of those in service to their countries at this time will return to their loved ones safely.

::hugs::
