sudden light periods

i checked the memories, didnt find anything about this. but im sure its had to have been asked before. i also havent read any of the recent entries so i appologize if its right in front of my face, haha!

for the past two months my periods have been extra super light. i will still bleed for a couple days but barely much at all. this is coming from a girl who used to have extremely heavy periods.

i just want to know what this means. why this is happening. will my periods continue to be like this for a while? i dont want to have to keep on wearing SUPER tampons when i dont need to - i know that isnt healthy either - but i dont have time to go to the restroom every 2 hours.

i just mainly want to know why this is happening and if its going to keep happening (i feel stupid for asking that, too, like im asking you to predict the future). if it matters, yes i have started excersiing quite a lot, and eating healthier, things have been a bit stressful lately, and i am sexually active.

Are you on hormonal birth control? If so, some types of pills reduce the thickness of the endometrial lining of your uterus. As a result when you have your "period"/withdrawal bleeding your periods may be lighter and last for less time.

If this makes any sense, while most periods are the same from month to month, some have yearly patterns as well. For example, you may find that once every year or two you have really light months and the following months will be very moderate and then back to heavy again.

Personally, mine are sually the same most of the time, but then I go through months here and there where it's VERY clotty or VERY light, but eventually I go back to normal. If I were you I'd give it a month or two and if it's not back to a familiar flow, I'd ask a doctor to take a look and see if anything was wrong.
