I've noticed recently that I have relatively consistent discharge all month long, not just around my period. It's clearish/milky, sometimes mucus-y, and doesn't have any odd odor. I don't think there's anything wrong, but I'm thinking that panty liners or something similar is all I need do to keep my underwear dry (and that's really the only problem it causes, which of couse leads to slight discomfort). But, all you ladies here are very knowledgeable, so I wanted to check in here, just in case :)

Its normal to have different types of mucous throughout your menstrual cycle. Different types are produced when you have different levels of hormones throughout your natural menstrual cycle. As long as it doesn't smell funny, its likely normal.

I understand that uncomfort, liners work perfectly :)

Wearing panty liners every day can make you prone to infections, because of the way the pads trap the moisture.

If you wear cotton underpants it lets your vagina breathe while still absorbing the moisture.

Did you just go on or off the pill? That could change your hormone levels and make your discharge change.

And about the pantyliners- that's my experience. They might work for you. I am just really prone to getting infections. I try to use pads only when absolutely necessary.

generally pantiliners don't let the vagina breathe, which isn't so nice. plus think of all the unnecessary waste. Maybe the divacup when you find you're having particularly damp days?

I personally find that my discharge can be a bit damp, but i would probably find a pantiliner to be more uncomfortable than just drying the underwear with TP or waiting it out.

good luck

Cloth pantyliners! Cheaper in the long run than buying disposable ones, and more comfortable because they let your vulva breathe - they're as comfortable as cotton underwear, and you can change them as often as you need to.

If you can make your own, cloth liners are almost free.

Yessssss cloth pantyliners! Just like cloth pads but a little thinner & smaller. Well made cloth pads/liners are so comfy you can't feel them, it's like you're just wearing normal underwear because it's fabric. They're also a zillion times more breathable & absorbent than disposable pads. Don't get weirded out by the idea of cleaning them - it's the same as washing your underwear when you haven't worn a pantyliner. Buy or make yourself a ton of them, wear a clean one everyday, & throw the soiled ones in with your regular laundry.

As for lots of vagina moisture...if you're okay with your body & 'in touch' with yourself emotionally, you'll be able to tell what's regular vagina moisture & what's not normal :) Personally my vagina is so wet I leak through jeans even when I'm not sexually aroused whatsoever. I just own a huge supply of cotton underwear & change them as needed.

I use natracare products which are all natural. I'd be inclined to believe that they're more natural (i.e. good for the girly parts) than most of the underwear I own.

It's not abnormal, though. A lot of women seem to experience this phenomenon and it doesn't usually mean that there's an infection or imbalance. It's just a little icky fact of life that most women don't discuss so the rest of us think that it's abnormal or that it means something... it usually doesn't.

I get that too and just wear a liner always. I get so uncofrtable about it though sometimes but yeah...

But yeah, it's normal though (as said above). If anything weird started happening with it I'd see a doctor.
