Question about bleeding.

Early last month, I had a PAP smear. Immediately after the smear, I started bleeding and bled for 10 days. Then as the bleeding subsided, I got a bad case of thrush (yeast infection) which also went on for about 10 days. Then as the thrush started to get better, I started bleeding again. I've now been bleeding again for about 5 days....not always heavy - spotting on some days and others like a normal period.

Has anyone ever experienced something like this? I always tend to bleed after a PAP smear or pelvic exam, but this is getting beyond a joke.

were you diagnosed with anything when you had your exam? has anything else taken place during that time (i don't mean to be intrusive, but things like intense sex or a new partner or even visiting a new hot-tub or a new clothes washing detergent) that may also be contributing/causing it? you really should see your GYN.

Nothing was diagnosed with my exam...everything was normal. I guess we did have some rough sex a few weeks back...I didn't think about that possibly being a cause.

give your doc a call. it can't hurt and will put your concerns to rest.

I've had about 4 pap's so far, but this last one I bled afterwards. I have never had that happen before. The only thing I could think of was that she scraped a bit too much.It went away after a couple days though. Never got an infection though so I guess that was good. But that was the first time I've ever had the bleeding.
