Dear GirlyBits,
Firstly, thank you. Thank You! for the weekend reprieve (even if time spent with Him didn't go that far)
Regardless, the sudden occurance of Cramps around 1030 Sunday night, a thing I'm not used to having to deal with, was not a happy thing. Neither was the onset of nausea, or the disturbing sensation that something alive might have somehow gotten in there and wanted to claw its way out (please to the gods and such, never let anything living get inside there, thank you). I am rather pleased that midol (the box of it that I bought from circle K over a year ago and now have finally used up) took effect within half an hour and the feeling in my belly settled down to a mild churning. However, I have come to strike a bargain. If you would please finish your cycle before the end of this week, or allow another reprieve sstarting about thursday and lasting until sunday again... I will love you forever. (especially as it allows for the opportunith to finish what was begun with Him last Friday).

Also, I've noticed for some reason that when I use my menstral cup, it lasts longer. Why?
I started using it because pads are messy and tampons cause dry-ness and (because my periods have been known to last for weeks) mild irritation.
Yet it seems like when I use tampons it ends sooner, and that the dry-ness is helpful that way... I dunno.
Weird? Does that make sense? Normal?

Thought number 1: You could have sex during your cycle.

Thought number 2: Is it possible that because you're leaving the cup in, it seems like your cycle is lasting longer because you can see much better what's coming out of you? I can't tell from what you posted if I'm on track, but here's my story. When I first switched to the cup, I would leave my cup in until I was getting absolutely nothing menstrual-y coming out of me anymore. I did this because I could see that there was some stuff in the cup, so I figured I needed to to. Now, I've come to realize that there's a point where if I didn't have the cup to collect it, I wouldn't notice that little bit of flow. Using conventional methods, like tampons, I didn't notice that flow. So, it originally felt like I was using the cup longer than I used tampons per cycle, but it was unnecessary. Does that make sense? Does it have anything to do with your situation?

Soap is not safe inside your vagina at all. Nothing is going to make menstrual fluids "dry out" as nothing you can do is going to get inside your uterus and dry out the lining or stop the bleeding, it will certaintly dry out very sensitive tissue though.

With that said, it's possible that your cycle is just changing a bit.

A menstrual cup isn't going to make you bleed any longer.
