May. 3rd, 2006 12:45 amOk, so I'm on the generic of Micronor - Errin. Have been since October. Did the whole breakthrough bleeding during the first three months and then a few episodes when I take a pill late.
The week of Easter was intensely stressful for me and I had my first real period in months. Keep in mind that I don't get a period ever and I don't get one while on this pill. Bleeding was heavy, clots were numerous and large. No pain. I called my GYN on Friday, April 21 to make sure that I shouldn't be overly concerned about it. She told me to take a pregnancy test to completely rule out the possibility of anything serious. And went on to tell me that it is more than likely a normal period. Um. When I wasn't getting anything in the past how many months?
Anyhow, the bleeding finally slowed and stopped.
This afternoon I noticed some of that brownish breakthrough bleeding, but it was so little, I didn't think anything more of it. I used a tampon and that was the end of it. Well, I just went to change and I'm bleeding again.
I did have sex for the first time in a month on Sunday. I don't recall taking my pill late within the last two weeks, so, um. Yea.
Life is still horribly stressful, so I'm trying to chalk it up to that. Anything else it could be? It's weird to be bleeding at all when I haven't with this pill.

Date: 2006-05-05 06:17 pm (UTC)For the first three months - as with any pill - your body will take the time to adjust. For me, I dealt with breakthrough bleeding. It wasn't horrible, but it certainly wasn't any fun. :P By the fourth month, things seemed to be returning to normal. And I definitely wasn't experiencing any more breakthrough bleeding.
I am under tremendous stressed right now - I left my fiance on April 18th, the heavy bleeding started right around the same time. It lasted throughout the week, almost as if it were simply a normal period. I was blood free for a week. And I just started bleeding healvily again on May 3rd.
I've heard that this pill can make your periods disappear altogether. For me, I've noticed that if I take a pill late (the POPs must be taken at the same time every day), I will have some bleeding the following day. All in all, though, I love this pill and haven't had any real problems with it.
My body is really wonky due to my PCOS and lack of a period, so i'm not the best for advice. :P Give your body some time to adjust to the pill and if it isn't working for you, talk with your doctor.
