question about the period that never ends...

I have pcos. I started taking Ovcon birth control in January. I did not have any breakthrough bleeding or other problems. I would sometimes start my period a day or two early, but other than that it has been nice. This last month, I was three days late for my period, then it only lasted 4 days. A day after I stopped, I began spotting very lightly and cramping. That lasted for a week, then on last Monday I began bleeding very heavily and that lasted until Friday. Now I'm back to the on again off again spotting. What is going on? It's been almost three weeks and I'm starting to think I'll need a transfusion soon. lol

Oooh! I am interested in this subject, too...my doctor and I suspect I have PCOS because of my weight(although my ovaries on the sonagram looked absolutely clear)..and for that reason and others she put me on Ovcon35...the first bc I've ever taken/been on. I'm on my first month, I've got 4 days left of the hormone pills, then a week of the placebo, *but* I started a light period yesterday! (With the clotty, jelly-like blood...and brownish. Ugh.) I was thinking maybe it might have something to do with the heavy lining I had built up before (http://community.livejournal.com/menstrualhut/2012567.html), maybe the progesterone trial the dr had me do last month didn't clean it all out...but now I'm not so sure...
