Is it weird that I'm 23 years old and I've only just tried tampons this past month. I love them! I now know what I've been missing these past 8 years.

I felt silly that it took me a long time to try them to. Pads are icky and gross compared to tampons in my taste.

i used pads maybe my first few months [i started when i was 11] and then switched over to tampons.

i'm 18. [oddly enough, my girlfriend - 22 - doesn't use them. odd one, she is.]

I'm 22, and just about every month I try them, but I just can't seem to get it. Always feels like the tampon's falling out of me, like it's not pushed in enough or something. I've heard that they can be more uncomfortable for smaller girls, though, and I'm only 5' 1" tall, so maybe that's why?

I'm 5'3" and I can't even feel them when they are put in right. I'd suggest trying Regular Tampax Compax. That's what I use and they are so easy to get in just right lol.

I'm only 5' and I have a real hard time wearing Tampax.. they're just like HUGE! I switched to Playtex.. now I use a menstral cup!

Common misconception... short/skinny girls can have big ol' vaginas. There isn't necessarily a correlation between the two "measurements" or whatever.

But with that having said, I'm little too (almost 5'7 but only 100 lbs) and I had the same problem you did. I had been stealing whatever my mom used, which was Tampax, and they always felt HUGE like I was trying to cram a baguette in there or something. I went out and got those Playtex Slimfits and used those for a long time. They don't provide the best protection but it did help me get used to sticking a ball of cotton in my body. They're easy because they're really thin and very smooth plastic.

After that I upgraded to Playtex Beyond, which are in variable sizes/absorption but the applicators are cardboard with a smooth coating so they're not as bad for the environment. The idea of coming at my girly parts with a blunt end like on a Tampax STILL freaks me out to this day. The tapered shape and construction of the Playtex Beyonds made so much more sense to me. They're so much less scary.

Tampons are the best thing that have ever happened to me. I CANNOT understand why ANY woman would wear a pad. Thinking about them makes my stomach turn!

I was the same way. I think I tried a bunch of times but I didn't successfully use my first tampon until I was 19. I seriously felt liberated like all of the crap that I wasn't able to do comfortably when I was stuck using pads. Swimming, dancing, wearing the clothes I wanted to wear... Ugh it was like the best day ever.
