hi i only posted in here once but i have a real quick question....

ok after i got off depo (all birth controll actually) i would every once in a while get real bad cramps. well i have tried different pain relievers and such....anyways i just tried "women's tylenol ~menstural relief". well i only used it once last night and the cramps went away and i dont have them today but i ended up with a gusher of a period. ugh...i've had my heavy days but it was like BAM! get rid of cramps turn the flow on high. LOL
i was just wondering if anyone experienced this before or similar things due to pain relievers.

aspirin will thin your blood, so you'll flow heavier and longer...which is why i usually try to bear the cramps without pain reliever. doesn't always work though.

tylenol is *not* aspirin. It is acetamitophen.

it also does the same thing as aspirin, along with thinning the blood. sorry for using the generic term.

Tylenol may 'do the same thing' as aspirin in the sense that it is a pain reliever, but it does not thin your blood. I found some links regarding tylenol being taken with a blood thinning drug called warfarin (http://www3.cnn.com/HEALTH/9803/03/drug.interaction/) possibly causing internal bleeding, but the following link says exactly the opposite of what you did:

Tylenol does not thin the blood (http://www.google.com/search?q=cache:o2Gj7QoFDmU:www0.mercurycenter.com/premium/scitech/docs/painmeds04.htm+tylenol+thin+blood&hl=en)

well, my roommate is pre-med and we looked in one of her textbooks, and what i found said the contrary. it doesn't thin the blood AS MUCH as aspirin does, but according to this anything of that type placed in your system will still thin the blood.

it doesn't matter though...i just hope she gets her period gets better.
