My last period ended in the beginning of September. I had sex right after it ended, within the next few days. I was very nervous and scared, because the withdrawal method was used. I was positive that there was no cum going in, but worried about pre-cum.

On the 5th, I went to Planned Parenthood and got the Plan B pill. I took it within 72 hours of intercourse. Five days after taking it, today, I got my period? It has only been 2 weeks since my last one. My period has always been irregular, it sometimes comes very soon after the last one... but this time I am SO scared that it is implantational bleeding.

I got cramps and lower back pain. I started to break out like I normally do before my periods. Also I craved chocolate. The blood is lighter then my normal periods, but not light enough that I don't need a pad or tampon. It is the same color as my normal period. Some side effects of the Plan B pill are getting your period early or late, and getting it lighter or heavier.

Please tell me what you think! I am so nervous! I really don't want to be pregnant and I hope and pray that this is my period and not implantational bleeding.

Plan B is just a really high dose of the same hormones that are in birth control pills. Just like on an "off week" on pills, the lack of hormones induces a period. Your cravings and break out can also be explained by the hormones.

I've never taken Plan B, and I'm not a doctor... but everything your describing sounds like normal side effects of the Plan B.

You will get your period after taking plan B. Usually it comes early. Many questions can be answered at not2late.com
Ive taken it. My period came early too. It's supposed to. Period= not pregnant in most of the cases, at least from what I read on that website.
If you didn't get your period after taking plan b, then you should worry.
Implantation bleeding is usually light and brief. Usually.

While Plan B does not bring on a period, the high dose of hormones can easily cause your period to come early. This sounds perfectly normal. I wouldn't worry.

I wouldn't worry about it. When I had taken Plan B, my period came super early. Implantation bleeding is usually more of a spotting thing, not really much like a period. I'd worry more if you didn't get a period after taking it & it continued to be absent.

I would also like to add to the list of comments that pre-cum does not contain sperm, so don't worry too much about that. The "pre-cum contains sperm so don't rely on the pull out method" is, I believe, a scare tactic for teens. I know adult couples in which the guy knows his sense of control very well, who all use the pullout method and have not had any pregnancies.

This article says more about it. (http://www.fwhc.org/birth-control/withdrawal.htm)

However, there *may* be sperm in pre-cum only if the guy hasn't peed since he last ejaculated - if he has, the sperm have likely been pushed out.

Anyway, I just wanted to reassure you that the chances of you being pregnant were very very small to begin with, and that all your symptoms sound hormone related, i.e., due to the Plan B. So, sounds like you're covered!

While withdrawal lowers the chance of pregnancy, I'd like to point out that your reference says the chance of pregnancy is still 19% (over a standard year). That means for every five people who rely solely on this method, one will become pregnant this year. It's not a statistic that I'd like to be a part of.

Combined with fertility planning, etc, etc, I'm sure it's a viable option for some people; I just wouldn't choose it for myself.
