(fair warning :)

but still, I'd greatly appreciate any suggestions.

See, i get these pimply things all over my heinie. I can't really seem to get them to go away... I know the basics (keep skin clean, etc), and they seem to form around areas where my panties rub the skin... So maybe I shouldn't wear underwear for awhile, and see if that helps? But that's never really worked for me because I tend to get enough discharge, even on a normal day, that I end up feeling icky if I can't wear underwear (and therefore pantiliner). That's just the way I've always been....

Does this happen to anyone else? Suggestions? Please?

Detergent

Those pimple-like things may not be pimples at all. Some people who have them all of their lives or for very long periods of time are actually having a reaction to their detergent. Start washing your "delicates" in a seperate load with NO DETERGENT or Dreft (baby detergent). I've known several people who've suffered from this and eliminating the detergent helps alot!! Something about the soaps and perfumes (which aren't washed away with each wash) irritates the skin. It may take three or four runs through the washer with no soap to get rid of all of the irritants, but it's worth a try! Good luck!

I would definately wash colored undies (or things that have to be washed in cold water) with a little Dreft (the baby detergent)...keep in mind that you really don't need to use the recommended amount...use half and you're still o.k. Also, for the first few times you wash your clothes without detergent, there will still be enough residual detergent in the undies to create some suds in the water!! If you are skeptical, do this trick... get a clear glass or a tupperware container. Put a pair of clean undies in and add water. SHAKE UP the container and you'll see SUDS!!! This is what causes your rash, possibly! As for the whites, hot water and a TINY BIT of bleach shoudl do the trick! :)

Especially if your noticing it along elastic bands.. The creases in elastic hold the detergent and other stuff longer.

another consideration....

.... is to try wearing boxers! I knew someone who actually would get little cysts from where her underwear would rub against her, seriously enough that she had to have surgical intervention on a couple - and a nurse suggested boxers to her - voila! no more problems! Won't help with the pantiliners issue, but on some days, why not? They actually make some cute boxer-cut briefs these days. And I will confess to wearing boxers every so often. =)
