Nov. 14th, 2006 12:24 amI'm on ortho tri-cyclen and i've decided to skip my period by taking the next pack backwards instead of starting the green pills. Will I be protected just as much?? Like it wont screw anything up in my body if I do this?

Date: 2006-11-14 06:08 am (UTC)B.) Bodies are often adverse to being messed with, so there's a good chance you'll get breakthrough bleeding. But trying to skip your period shouldn't hurt you in anyway, and you'll still be completely protected as long as you're taking your pills on time, etc.

Date: 2006-11-15 10:03 pm (UTC)take week 1 of pack1
take week 2 of pack1
take week 3 of pack1
take week 4 of pack2
take week 3 of pack2
take week 2 of pack2
take week 1 of pack2
if that's what you're saying, i think 1) you won't skip your period, because you'll still be taking a week of inactive pills, it will just be the week of inactive pills from the 2nd pack instead of the first and 2) if you meant taking skipping the inactive pills of the 2nd pack too, starting with week 3 it might work, but i would ask your doctor or an advice nurse to be sure. in general i was under the impression that tri-phasic (like orth tri-cyclen) pills were not that great for using to skip periods and tended to cause spotting and such.
