Before, my periods were always fairly regular (my cycle was 30-32 days long). Then, about three months ago, I had a lapse, and took up smoking again. For the last three months (that I have been smoking, and eating poorly) my menstrual cycle has been less than predictable.

A week and a day ago, I began using nicotine patches (14mg), and have not smoked. I have also begun a one hour yoga regimine for four days a week. And, I've again begun to eat healthily (lots of water, veggies, fruit, and the occasional chicken or fish). I'm down to half a cup of coffee a day, and plan to wean myself off completley in the next week.

All of this in preparation to become pregnant this next summer. My husband and I will need to undergo fertility procedures (due to male-factor infertility), and I want to give my body a fighting chance.

I am currently several days late for my menses. Can anyone give me some advice on how to naturally regulate my cycle again? Any teas, herbs, foods, or homeopathic remedies that might help put my cycle back on track? I'm so frustrated.

It's only been about a month, give your body a fighting chance! Often, things will right themselves. I've had a rough time of it and I used to be on BC pills to help control cramping, etc. Now, with exercise (1 hr. a day as the gov recommends, actually) I find that my period is regular and not nearly as crampy.

Add to that some healthy food and I think things will probably chill out in another cycle or two.

Really. I wouldn't start any drastic measures yet.

This isn't really a "remedy", but this book is awesome for figuring out what's going on with your cycles. http://www.ovusoft.com/

You don't say how irregular you've become. Considering all the changes you're putting your body through, quitting smoking, taking up yoga, etc. it's normal to expect your body to adjust to that in other ways. I agree with [livejournal.com profile] bellabrigida, give it a little time.

Taking Charge of Your Fertility (http://www.tcoyf.com) (and the book by the same name) is generally very highly regarded and may be good reading in the meantime.
