We have done so in the past, but these days my period lasts all of four days and I tend to feel pretty crappy while on it, so we've had a few months where we didn't.

The bathtub and/or shower is a great place for us during my period. A towel thrown over the bed/floor/whatever works, too, but cleanup is easiest in the bathtub.

I asked this question in my journal a few weeks ago and I got about 6 or 7 responses and only one person said that they thought it was bad or gross. All were in agreeance that a shower should take place afterwards. Having sex in the shower alleviates that problem of course. :)
