I think I am really just looking for some reassurance..

I've never really had an irregular period before, but last night I noticed I was bleeding small(ish) amounts of a very dark brown blood, and today it has continued (although it is now more red in colour and there is more of it). The blood itself is much less thick than usual and has a watery consistancy. I would normally start my period on around the 1st of the month, so to have another one now seems very strange.. 

I am actually quite fluish today and recently have been quite stressed with college, so I was really wondering whether this could be why? It sounds ridiculous, but I am not entirely sure it is a period, and have just got myself into a panic about the idea of bleeding internally for some other reason.
