For some reasons whenever I post in here about this problem, it always ends up with me getting my period the next day so... here it goes...

Ok.I've posted in here before about this problem. I've been trying to figure out my new cycle since for the past 7 years it has been the same [28 days] and now has decided to change. The average days for my cycle for the past year [which it has been screwy during] is still 28 days but I cannot predict it anymore because it doesn't follow that every single month. Based on the 28 days cycle I am 5 days late. The largest amount of days between has been 33. Even based off of that I should have gotten my period today- granted the day is not over but...

I am not on BC. I got my period 1 day late in January. The last time I had sex in January was the 5th. I had not had sex since then until February 10th.

Any advice? Or reassurance?

I'm not necessarily worried that I am pregnant [I have pregnancy tests available to me if I were to worry that]. I'm just wondering what's up with my cycle.

Thanks!

Your period is going to change as you get older. This is a fact of every woman. Some women go through a phase of longer or heavier periods before going through another phase of lighter, more frequent ones. You won't always have the same menstrual schedule. The period you experienced at 13 won't follow the same rules as the one you'll have at 25 or 40.

Other things that can affect your period are stress or a change in diet and/or activity. If missing your period is accompanied by strange symptoms (like a fever or hair growing in odd places), then make an appointment with your doctor.

I've been there. It's a little freaky to have your period change on you, but once you realize the change is normal it becomes easier to take. Mine changed after I started college and again after I hit 30. I'm told I can expect it to become completely wonky in my 40's. Freaky, but normal.

You might also want to go to a gynecologist to make sure that there's nothing wrong. Some gynecological disorders can mess with your period.
