Okay this is a random question & i'm not even sure anyone can help me. But I got my period recently, i've been using tampons for awhile now. But when I went to go put it in, it like wouldn't go in? It was very painful, and it kinda feels like there is something stuck up there? I'm not good at describing but thats the best I can do. I've been using tampons for awhile, so it's not like I don't know how to insert it. But i've been trying for the last couple days of my period, and i've yet to get a tampon in =/

x-post a couple places.

Would you happen to still have a tampon in that you've forgotten about? It certainly wouldn't be rare for that to happen.

Actually, you might not have. I had an extra one in me for like a week without realizing it. I actually had 2 in for awhile. Definitely not a fun thing.

Perhaps your period isn't as heavy as usual, and there is less liquid to aid the tampon in getting in?

I wish I knew more to say, but I went through the same thing when I was about 18. Before that point, I was a tampon user with no problems, but since then I can't get one in, and the once I did, it was so painful and wrongly positioned, I thought I would die. The only thing I could blame was a change in my menstrual fluid, which made it harder to slip in.

I'd say your best bet is to feel around, or see if you can see anything by squatting over a mirror or something. Otherwise, go to a doctor.

Maybe you've got an infection/swelling in your vagina? You should have it checked out if it's bothering you.

It sounds to me like it might be your cervix the tampon is hitting. That would explain the pain, too.
Your cervix comes down lower into the vagina during your period.
