i think this is my first post here.

i havent been to the gyno in a while.
i dont really get my period. i have irritable bowel syndrome and the pill makes me REALLY sick.
ive been too sick recently to go to the gyno...but shes given me provera 2 or so times to get my period. the last time i got it was after i had 2-4cups of parsley tea.

i havent had my period in 5 months, before that 8months it been like this for a few years now.

im in alot of pain...but im also really sick from my IBS and a recent UTI >_< they think i might have problems with my kidneys.so im having alot of lower back pain.

for the last 3or 4 months ive been seeng little pea size clots...the mushy brown kind? when i wipe after i pee. just the clot...no blood or anything(though its been lighpink sometimes). sometimes they are in the bottom of the toilet after i pee. this has happened maybe a few tis a few days before i start bleeding...not for months!

i cant tell which is which!!!

gynos and one GI doctor suggested PCOS and endometriosis(wow i cant spell? haha sorry!)

i have ALOT of the history and symptoms of PCOS...does anyone here have it? a if so...can you tell me what i should do/ not do....take/not take...

ive never wanted my period so bad.

I was recently diagnosed as insulin resistant. They put me on metformin, and after getting the dosage right, I'm getting a period every 35 days and it's only lasting about 7 days. Before this med, my periods were anywhere from every 2 months to a year apart and ALWAYS lasted at least 10 days more like 14.

I've heard that if metformin can fix your periods (It's a side effect, not what the med is intended for) that it's a good sign you have PCOS.

Metformin (or Glucophage sp?) made me unable to eat/drink aspartame without horrid IBS type issues. But, I get a period, and I've started dropping weight without changing a thing. It's interesting to say the least.

Lemmee know if I can be of any more help.

I dunno if they had it 3 years ago, but they now have an extended release tablet. I experienced NO side effects on it at all after the first week of usage. I cannot however, say the same for the normal pills I am on now. Oh well. At least it finally stopped after a month, but I still can't handle aspartame. Say that to a girl that's addicted to her diet A&W and diet Dr. P!

Honestly, if you suspect that you have PCOS and/or endometriosis, both of which can be serious conditions, my first advice would be to see a gynecologist. I have PCOS but it doesn't cause me nearly as much trouble, aside from long, heavy periods, as yours sounds like it does - so whether you have PCOS, endometriosis, or both, I'd ask a doctor for their advice, which they can tailor to your health history better than we can :)
