damn these sneaky cycles

after six years on the pill..i went off in november to try to get an IUD inserted-twice. it didn't work and i decided not to go back on the pill.

after skipping a month and some weird periods i thought my period was getting regular in march but last month it was 2 weeks late and looks like the same this month.

does this sound like my body is still trying to find a normal cycle?

i have a gyn appointment in september so i'll double check out the plumbing
but i was curious..i heard it can take awhile for your cycle to get back to "normal" after the pill.
and i have no memory of what my periods were like before i was on the pill..so maybe they were irregular to begin with.
(i'm 25...got my first period when i was 13..went on bcp when i was 18 in case anyone cares)

Are you tracking your cycle length, i.e. the days between day 1 of your period and day 1? Maybe there's a pattern you're not seeing. Some women do have irregular cycles after coming off the pill, but if your cycles were irregular to begin with...that's not going to change. Not sure that's any help.

have you seen the community iud_divas ? I'm sure your periods would have changed since you were 18 anyway, so even if you could remember what they were like, it might not help much. I quit the pill over a year ago and I'm still not sure if my body's evened out yet from that. Also, if you want to learn more about your cycle, you should consider the Fertility Awareness method (FAM), and you can see if your cycles are long because you take a long time to ovulate or if you're not ovulating or whatever else is happening. There's a livejournal community called FAM that's helpful. Also, the book The Garden of Fertility, by Katie Singer, is really good at describing how to use FAM to gauge your reproductive health.
