Hi. I've been reading for a while before actually getting the nerve to post. So here goes.

My last period started on June 15th, and it lasted for about four days. I haven't had a period since then. The last time I had sex was June 13th. I've taken several pregnancy tests between then and now and all have been negative. I haven't changed my exercise or eating habits. I'm not on birth control. I don't have health insurance, so getting to a doctor is a big money crunch on my unemployment checks. Has anyone out there expierienced anything like this? Or am I some kind of biological freak?

I completely skip a cycle at least once per year.

It happens for sure. Do you track ovulation signs?

You may want to get a copy of Taking Charge of Your Fertility.

It's also possible that the June 15 period was implantation spotting and that you are pregnant. I would take a test to be sure.

I doubt you're a freak and you're not pregnant. :)

Beyond that we really can't say what's going on. Do you have a Planned Parenthood near you? Or a local women's health clinic? They can likely work with you on cost, but it would be a good idea to find out why you're not having periods.

You're welcome. :) Make sure to tell them that you're on a limited income with no health insurance.

This would be a much easier question to answer if I knew how old you were and what else was going on in your life. Stress has amazing power over your period, as well as your age.

What I meant was (*ahem*) that age and stress can determine the behavior of your menstrual cycle.

I really need to make sure I'm awake before hitting that 'post' button...

Is unemployment or a breakup stressing you out? These things would have an effect on your period.

You've received some good advice here. This is just my two cents.

Lots of things can affect your period. Stress has already been mentioned, but also things like losing a lot of weight quickly.
The absence of periods is called amenorrhea. There is more information about it here (http://www.webmd.com/infertility-and-reproduction/guide/absence-periods) on webmd.com.
