My GP has just prescribed me Tranexamic Acid for heavy periods (and might I add HURRAH! Finally a doctor has taken this problem seriously!) She explained how they work and has reassured me that I don't need to worry about the clotting mechanism increasing my risk of thrombosis etc. Nonetheless I am still a touch concerned. Should I be? Has anyone any experience? Thanks ladies!

what an interesting compound! i'd never heard of it till now.

according to that article, it indeed appears that thrombosis due to tranexamic acid use has about the same occurrence as spontaneous thrombosis. let us know how it goes...i'm really interested in this stuff now!
