weirdo periods?
Nov. 20th, 2007 02:56 pmi read over the memories but couldn't really find much of an answer.
my period was perfect for years (as in, like clockwork every 28 days). then i got pregnant, and after i went on birth control for the next almost five years. i recently went off of birth control in early september and i haven't had sex of any kind since last april [ie i am 1000% sure i am not pregnant].
my period was basically like clockwork on the pill (until sept) and for my first cycle off the pill (oct) and now for this cycle my period is two weeks+ "late" (past 28 days).
i've also been crazy stressed out with my last year of grad school (i have been crazy stressed before but this is slightly worse?).
is it normal for your period to be bizarre after going off the pill, even after one "normal" cycle? what about for being normal for my whole life, then the pill... is it possible that my cycle wouldn't be "normal (28 days)" anymore?
thank you!

I had an accident in September and was hospitalised and my doctor advised against taking the pill during that time because it would mean I was more at risk of clotting (I had to have clexane shots in my stomach each night to thin my blood).
The stress and shock from my accident brought on my period two weeks earlier than it would normally have been due.
I waited til my next cycle, when I would be out of the hospital, to go back on the pill, and within the first month my cycle is already like clockwork again.
But yes, I've gone off the pill a few other times for other reasons, and my cycle has been a little out of whack during the 'downtime'.
