I am new to this community. I am 19 years old will be 20 on Jan 27th. I am in college and getting married soon.
I have been taking birth control for 5 years, although I have only been sexually active for 2. I had horrid periods that lasted 13 days and would require me to use a super plus tampon every 2 hours. The doc put me on Zovia, I have been on it for 5 years in March.
Even before b/c I had perfect never late periods. My periods have been 4 days and medium in flow since being on b/c and I have never missed or been light.
I went on the placebo pills on Sunday. I normally start my period the following tuesday, in the morning (never fails). I started monday morning at work but it wasnt normal. It was light brown and clear mucous. After a few hours I went to change my tampon and it was light pink and brown. Then nothing. that was it. 4 hours total. I had clear mucous for the next 2 days. That was it. I have never had anything even close to this.
I have been Soooo tired the last 2 weeks, and if I smell certain strong smells I get sick to my stomach.
I am getting married in May. I have been with my Fiance for 2 1/2 years and we are monogomous. Thus we do not use any other kind of protection besides my b/c pills. My doctor knows this and never said anything against it.
I have been researching online and it seems that it is pointless to take a pregnancy test now, but to wait about 2 or 3 weeks from your missed period and take one. Does this sound correct? Does it sound like I could be pregnant?

Date: 2008-01-07 11:01 pm (UTC)been on antibiotics recently?
been more stressed than usual?
missed a pill/more than one?
taken your pills later than usual?
occasionally cycles do change, and it's not uncommon for periods to be lighter or heavier than usual.

Date: 2008-01-07 11:04 pm (UTC)I have not been sick, no medication changes or antibiotics.
I did start a new job, but it has not be stressful, I have not felt stressed. I am always a little stressed with working and going to school full time but I have been doing this for 2 years.
I take my pills every morning within an hour or so of waking up. It is between 8 am and 10am every day.
I hope that it is just being weird. Perhaps starting the new job where I walk around more is the cause. We could handle a pregnancy but I would much rather wait.
Thank You.

Date: 2008-01-07 11:04 pm (UTC)It DOES sound like you could be pregnant...it's totally not true that you need to wait 2 or 3 weeks to take a test. There are tests out there that claim accuracy up to four days BEFORE a missed period. You can definitely take an early detection test today. They come in a two-pack, so depending on your result, you can retest again in a few days.
Keep in mind that hormonal fluctuations and general stress can also make you fatigued/sick to your stomach/sensitive to smells...but a test would be a good idea nonetheless. If you're truly having pregnancy symptoms, there's probably enough preg. hormone in you to make the test register.
Keep in touch!

Date: 2008-01-07 11:07 pm (UTC)As always, if you're worried see your doctor or OB/GYN.
Also, my sister has issues when she's been on a certain pill for too long. I don't know if that's common at all, but once in a while she has to switch up. Kinda like shampoo. =/

Date: 2008-01-07 11:11 pm (UTC)It could be wedding stress. I havent noticed anything abnormal but then again I am working full time, going to school full time and wedding planning. it could be overload.
