my boyfriend and i recently broke up, but we were sexually active last month. we generally had protected sex, and i know it isn't foolproof, but in the few times we didn't use a condom, he never came inside of me.

i noticed a strange, white milky discharge a few weeks ago. i eventually started my period, and bled heavier than ever. i was changing my tampon every other hour on average, and the amount of bloodloss made me feel very weak. toward the end of my period, i started experiencing painful cramps, which have lingered even after i have stopped bleeding. it hurts especially to use the bathroom, kind of like getting stabbed upward, thus i've been using the bathroom less despite knowing the importance of eliminating waste. this too seems to add to the discomforting pressure of my pelvic/lower abdominal region.

i intend to get checked out monday morning, but in the meantime, do these symptoms sound familiar to anyone....does anyone have any advice?

What's your blood type? If there's a chance that you miscarried and you are Rh negative, your doctors will likely want to give you RhoGAM or a similar injection, unless you can prove that your rx is Rh positive. That's not super urgent, though I think the window is something like 72 hours, but don't quote me on that.

If you're in that much pain, you should probably call your doctor's on-call service.

are you on birth control (apart from condoms)? did you get emergency contraception? when did you get your period?

it sounds as though you might have a UTI - definitely call your doctor asap! (as much as it hurts, keep drinking. i think cranberry juice might help)

Really hard to say. I agree with [livejournal.com profile] taldragon that it could be a UTI and a heavy period. On the extreme maybe an STI, but I'd start with the simplest explanation first and not jump to conclusions.
