Jan. 29th, 2008 04:04 pmI just started my period today and I have special "freind" visiting me Friday. I am not on HBC and would like my period to stop by Friday. Is there any way to get it to go(flow) faster? Ever heard of mentrual excavation (I THINK that's what it's called)? I only get to see him once a year and really want it to not look like a sceen from a horror movie!
Thank you in advance!!

Date: 2008-01-30 12:12 am (UTC)my other suggestion: sea sponges. just moisten one with water and stick it up by your cervix right before sex (and take it out and rinse it as soon as you're done). when i had my IUD and was spotting for almost 8 months (yes, ugh), i used sea sponges a ton. here's a site that sells them online (http://www.jadeandpearl.com/), but you can find them at most natural/health food stores.

Thank you.

Date: 2008-03-25 02:28 am (UTC)i really want a safe way to miss it, or bring it forward/delay it, or just..reduce it as much as possible so it doesn't interfere. anything i can do in advance? foods/supplements i can take to alter it?
my period's average in timing [about 7 days], but heavy at night, and i generally have to sleep on a towel for the first few days to prevent any mess. i never stay at boyfriends' houses while i'm on, cos i'd be mortified if i woke up and it had stained their sheets, plus having to wear pads/tampons isn't exactly a turn on, either for me or someone i'm with. period sex doesn't bother me (done it in a previous relationship), just the practicalities either side of it. plus hotels always have white sheets so there's real potential for embarrassment! i've only ever used pads, would a heavy tampon stop any problems, and can i sleep in one or is that too long to leave it in?? is a sea sponge better?
and this extraction procedure... is it available in the uk? how would i go about getting it, will my gp just think i'm being frivolous, wanting to ditch my period so i can go on holiday and have sex?! if i can do it, it'd totally be the best option. i really, really, really, REALLY don't wanna deal with my period next month, and i'm not bothered about cost or discomfort, if it's safe. this one's really important to me and i want everything to be right.
