a somewhat odd question...
how necessary is it to start the pill after you get your period? i can understand that getting your period assures you that you haven't gotten pregnant in the last month, but i haven't had sex since my last period (nor have i been on the pill, because i forgot to order a new pack *sigh*) however, my boyfriend's coming to visit, and i'd like to have been on the pill for a week by the time he comes (since you have to use backup until you've been on it a week), but i'm not expecting my period until the week he shows up. does it not work if you start it mid-month, or what?
i'm going for a pap smear tomorrow so i'll ask the doctor then as well, but i thought you ladies might have some insights.

i haven't posted anything for awhile but i found some cool surveys that i thought the menstrual hut girls might be interested in. they ask about menstruation and related stuff. these are academic surveys so not only are you entertaining yourself but also providing info to better educate the world about women and their periods. definitely a good cause if you ask me. check it out!

Okay, so, I'm 15, and I've had my period for.. like...what 4 years? Well, I was wondering, when should i go to the gyno? Cause, I've never been, and hell I haven't even had a regular physical since forever. And also I've been trying to look into going on the pill. Anyone have any insight on the pill that would help my decisions? Your comments are appreciated.

if someone asked this before, sorry for the redundancy.
anyway...

is it safe to have sex when you're on the dummy pills of the BCP? i'm talking those two unbloody days before your body realizes that the hormones aren't there anymore. the pamplet never addressed this, but i've been told countless times that having sex during your period or right before your period is a dumb idea. this would technically be that time, right?

i guess to clarify, do you stop ovulating on the pill? i'm pretty sure you do, as it fools your body into thinking you're pregnant (right?). That said, can you ovulate in only two days enough to make it dangerous? maybe not but i am unsure.

i haven't tried this, it's purely theorhetical.

thanks in advance :-)
