ok, question. i KNOW there have been other entries about this, but i can't find any.

i need to skip my next period because it's supposed to come the day of my senior prom. i'm on ortho tri-cyclen. if i skip the seven sugar pills and go right to the next pack, will i still be protected from getting pregnant for the entire month?? i'm kind of panicking because i *can't* have my period during prom but i also can't do anything that'll put me in danger of getting pregnant.

thanks!!!

ugh!

dammit. i was supposed to start yesterday. i have NOOO idea why i could be late (haven't had sex in months, been taking my pill religiously).

yesterday i drank 2 cups of parsley tea. this morning i drank another one. still nada. been taking calcium supplements the last few days too, just to ward off the PMS. i read someplace that a parsley "tampon" will induce menstruation too, so i put 2 sprigs up there and i'm gonna see how that does me.

any additional ideas? i'm going out of town on saturday and i'd REALLY like to be drying up a *bit* by then. not necessarily done, but at least slowed down. plus i'm anxious to use my new sea sponges! :D

grrr. leave it to my body to pull some shit like this, lol.

so it almost seems like every girl in high school, including me, is having the same problem... there period is coming for prom! This wouldnt bother me too much except for the fact that my periods give me moderate cramps and horrible horrible back pains.. which is not good when i plan to be dancing all night. plus, about 2 times a year, my period brings with it the worst sickness (headaches, backaches, fever, fatigue, ect.).. and the last time that happened was in November, and before that April.. so im a little scared it will happen again this month. I should get my period on the 30th, and prom is the 31st, and the second day is always the worst for me.

I am a little nervous about trying the parsley tea method to make my peiod come sooner, because i've read about some other girls who tried it and i guess it didnt sound like it was working out too well. my period usually lasts about a week too.. i dunno if that could alter the teas effect. if there are any other safe methods to make a period come sooner, let me know.

but i was thinking... there MUST be a way to delay or postpone a period! just by a day or two... anybody have any ideas?

I am NOT on birth control (and im not sexually active, by the way)

If it comes down to it.. i supposed i could invest in some Midol, which i've never taken before, and just tough it out for the night.

The IUD

I hope this is appropriate to ask in here, but since birth control is a frequent topic, I hope you can help me out.

I'm vaguely interested in the IUD because you don't have to think about it, it lasts for ten years, it's effective second only to sterilization, it can be hormone free, and it's reversable. It also seems to be cheaper in the long run, costing $400 for ten years.

I'm a bit concerned about BCP because I wonder what the hormones will do to me. I definitely have been having a great and wonderful time with my Alesse, but I'm afraid something will resurface at some point later on.

Thing is, the IUD looks kind of scary and I really like having light, painless periods. I've been told that the IUD can make your period into a total monster. And I don't like the idea that if something goes wrong with it (gets out of place, etc), I have to be rushed to the doctor at once. I feel like i'd me more dependent on a doctor with an IUD, versus with the pill.

Ok...so I noticed something. On Wednesday, March 19...my period came right after my 1-4PM class...ok. On Wednesday, April 16...it did the same thing. I was wondering if it would come again this month, because someone mentioned it earlier. Well...I didn't have class today, because I'm out of classes for the summer. I took a shower and got out around 4:00...went to the bathroom, wiped, and seen a little bit of blood. The theory worked...LoL. So on Wednesday, May 14...I started my period. That was weird. I was on my 4th sugar pill. It's kinda nice though to realize this was going to happen. And I put it down on HERE and my cycle is averaged 28 days...cool.

Thought I would share. :)

Later.
