so it almost seems like every girl in high school, including me, is having the same problem... there period is coming for prom! This wouldnt bother me too much except for the fact that my periods give me moderate cramps and horrible horrible back pains.. which is not good when i plan to be dancing all night. plus, about 2 times a year, my period brings with it the worst sickness (headaches, backaches, fever, fatigue, ect.).. and the last time that happened was in November, and before that April.. so im a little scared it will happen again this month. I should get my period on the 30th, and prom is the 31st, and the second day is always the worst for me.

I am a little nervous about trying the parsley tea method to make my peiod come sooner, because i've read about some other girls who tried it and i guess it didnt sound like it was working out too well. my period usually lasts about a week too.. i dunno if that could alter the teas effect. if there are any other safe methods to make a period come sooner, let me know.

but i was thinking... there MUST be a way to delay or postpone a period! just by a day or two... anybody have any ideas?

I am NOT on birth control (and im not sexually active, by the way)

If it comes down to it.. i supposed i could invest in some Midol, which i've never taken before, and just tough it out for the night.

i had my period during prom this year, and my main concern was that my dress was white *eek* but i just took pamprin (i think it works better than midol) and had a wonderful time.

good luck.

On short notice, I can't think of anything. If you've got long enough, maybe you could consider taking up a brutal exercise regime, because your body will tend to think that when you're running or whatever so much, you must be living in a stressful environment and things like reproduction take a back seat. Many very athletic people I know who don't use the pill are fairly regular, but over a more long-term time frame. That is to say, they get their period once every six weeks or even more. One of my professors who runs five miles a day told us that she only gets it every three months!

Again, I have no idea how well this will work, since it does differ from person to person. Your best bet is probably going to be just hoping you don't get it but being prepared in case you do.

Good luck.

the only thing i've ever known to work very well is just not eating much and only drinking water for the week before. it's not healthy though so :\ i think if you just loaded up on pain killers you'd be fine and maybe it'd be even better cause you might get all spaced out! haha
