I have a few questions...

Has anyone heard of/know of information about menstrual periods being induced by physical trauma? Not necessarily rape, but along those lines. And I also don't mean bleeding from an actual injury, but a full-blown shedding of the uterus's lining because of a physical experience?

My second question is slightly graphic, so I'll put it behind an lj-cut tag. The second one is also motivated purely by curiosity, btw. :)

for those of you who use re-usable pads: do you rinse out the blood before you soak em, or will just tossing them into the soak bucket prevent stains?

also, how necessary is it to include soap in the cold water when you soak before washing?

I'm thinking of starting a Nuva-Ring community, for people who are on the ring, interested in it, or have been on the ring in the past.

Is there already a community like this as in specifically about nuva ring?

Would anyone here be interested in joining if i did create the community?

it's time for my menses and im crossing my fingers...

I didnt have unprotected sex during the time that i was off my ring cycle(im on nuva ring) but he did ejaculate at one point on the inside of my upper thigh... I was talking to a freind about it and she doesnt understand my paranoia, but i know someone who was a virgin when she found out she was pregnant with her first child, because she got into a situation like the one i just described... oi

well girls, it's the last week of my birth control so you know what that means :( since going on birth control things are a lot better period wise considering i never had one before. but during this time of the month everything is swollen, hurting, and i feel like i'm austin powers (if you know what I mean). I have a question, I didn't look in the memory section yet but i'll ask here anyway since this is my first post and an "introduction". what are the links between infertility and not having a period? for years my period was normal, on time, etc. then it stopped and i had to go on birth control to get it back. could this mean I might have problems later in life when I want children?

Hey everyone :-)

Today in my Women and Pop Culture class, we were discussing The Body Project, including a discussion of the ways that menstruation has been sanitized and commercialized since the Victorian era via the medical industry and the selling of sanitary napkins and tampons. I managed to get on a little soapbox about alternative menstrual products, and a lot of women in the class seemed really interested, and asked me a number of questions. It was requested that I bring in a picture next week (since I don't have one myself, I can't bring it in).

Does anyone know where I can get a good picture of the Keeper? I'll probably try to grab some pictures of cloth pads as well, and Instead/Divacup/etc. pictures are welcome also. Thank you!!
