ovulating or not?

I've been off the Pill (whoohoo! I outgrew my horrendous cramps!) for about 6 or 7 months and my cycle is back to what was normal for me before I went on the Pill. However, back then I anticipated my period by watching for the mucous changes that indicated ovulation. The change was so obvious with me that I wouldn't even need to be looking for it. Anyway, I am looking for it now, and I haven't seen it all this time since I've been off the Pill. I'm not overly concerned right now, since I'm not trying to get pregnant, but do you suppose I'm still ovulating? I suppose I could ask a doctor, but it's not pressing enough to make an appointment.

Supposing I wasn't ovulating... how long would it have to be after going off the Pill before it would be considered odd?

And my uterus decides it is time to shed......OUCH!!! I was hoping to be done with the pain by the time I had to go to Florida for Thanksgiving.....guess that's not gonna happen.

Did I mention I was in a lot of pain? Yah, cramps and Monday mornings are sucky!!!

I considered calling in sick to work, but came in anyway. I've only been here half an hour and I'm regretting it already.

I don't like to "give in" to my period, although I have in the past when my digestive system's been thrown out of whack. (That hasn't happened in a while, knock on wood.) But in general I feel like a weakling if I call in sick, because ordinarily it doesn't get much worse for me than cramps on the first day. (I know everyone isn't this lucky.)

How does anyone else feel about this? What does it take for you to call in sick/skip class/whatever because of your period?
