Hi, I just recently started a new birth control (low ogestrol sp?) yesterday and this is my second day taking it and now my period is heavier/crampier then hell ( i feel like i am bleeding to death) i was a week late though... so could this be the birth control or could i have had a miscarriage or something? please help!

hi, i'm rachael, i'm new. *waves*

i have a question regarding birth control, skipping periods, and spotting. i'm on ortho lo, first off, and tomorrow i'm supposed to start the week of sugar pills. however, at the end of the week (usually when my period is heaviest) i'm going to be seeing my boytoy for the first time in a while, and i don't want to have my period then. i've heard that it's safe to skip a period one month while on the pill by just not taking the sugar pills, and that this could lead to some spotting later in the month. that wouldn't be a problem. the problem is that i've been spotting rather heavily for the past two weeks when i've been taking the pill regularly.
my quetion is, should i skip my period this month and hope for the best? should i take the sugar pills and hope that my period ends before the weekend? should i just forget about even trying, and deal with a less fun time?

This is the 2nd time during a menstrual month that even though it has started I get practically nothing the first day, but maybe a spot after I pee, that's when I usually know it's on, but after that for a whole freaking day I see nothing & then the 2nd or 3 day all hell breaks loose & It feels like a flood.

I feel like crap right about now.

Last month when I started, it graced it's presence on my b.day, about 2 weeks early...come to think of it, it has came 1 day earlier than last month, but I normally start near the end of the month.

Found these instructions for making a mentrual cup from aquarium sealant (silicon) on the museum of menstruation site:

This is how to make a menstrual cup out of aquarium sealant for less than 5US$:
Create paper-mold
Cover in dish-soap
Fill space in paper-mold with aquaria sealant
Let stand one day
Boil off the paper
Hand-wash between uses
Boil between menses
It is important to only use aquarium sealant. Aquaria silicone is the same as medical-grade silicone - aquarium sealant must be as pure as medical-grade silicone or else it might hurt the fish. Other kinds of silicone might have dangerous impurities or additives.

I've never seen anything else about DIY menstrual cups.
I have some aquarium grade silicon sealant and am keen to try it for this purpose!
I was wondering whether anyone has any ideas or experience with what to use for making a mold in: egg cup? I've never seen a Keeper so I'm not too sure what size they are. Also any general input would be appreciated.
