coincidence?

this is very odd.

i got my keeper in the mail early today, and i've been using it all day. i've been on my period for two weeks now.. since coming off depo-provera. i kept thinking it was slowing down and tapering off, but every time i wore a tampon, i bled a little more. it was frustrating! so i wore the keeper all day (and btw, i love it!), and no more bleeding.

now.. were the tampons just irritating me and sucking me dry to the point where my body wanted to keep bleeding, or was it just a fluke of timing that it stopped on the day i wore the keeper? it gave me something to think about, anyway.

I'm not sure if it's a coincidence or not, but the Eco-Logique site does mention that a lot of women bleed less with the Keeper than with other methods -- so maybe not. Glad you like it -- did you have any trouble getting it to fit?

i had a moment of panic when i thought i couldn't get it out, hehe. but then i re-read the instructions that came with it and figured out what they were talking about. i'm going to need some practice (mostly removal - suction sucks), but it fits just fine and is much more comfortable than tampons or pads.

hrm... sounds pretty suspicious to me. i've heard a lot of good things about the keeper. i think i'll look into getting one. go red-feminism and all that... : )

I've used Instead before and it worked pretty darn well after I figured it out! Kinda like a Keeper, but this one you don't "keep"

I think Instead goes deeper than the Keeper, and is bigger. Either way, it was too big for me, and very uncomfortable. I could never get them in correctly.

Hm, heidi, you've said you're rather small. I am too- I might try the Keeper after all.

i usually wear slender or regular tampons.. the large ones hurt. but i figured since i had no problems during intercourse, and my hubby is bigger around than the keeper, that it should be ok, and it was. of course, *blush*, i stay pretty wet in that area, even when i'm not on my period.

and there's always that guarantee.. every site i've seen that sells the keeper adheres to it.

i've never tried "instead," but i've heard very mixed reviews on it. i just wanted to get away from disposable products altogether, if i could. but if the keeper wouldn't have worked, i might have checked it out.

it's worn internally, like a tampon. but instead of sucking up the flow, it collects. it's made of gum rubber.. you just empty it a couple times of day, rinse it out, and put it back in. you can find out more at their website: http://www.keeper.com (http://www.keeper.com). i love mine! :)
