Commentary of late...

I read, with interest the posts of the last few days. And, since I was one who responded to the conversation on Fertility Awareness and NFP, I thought I should be the one to say this....
I have never, nor will I post anything that is a personal attack on anyone's post!! I don't operate like that. I've gotten bundles of hate mail since posting about the "cons"/concerns I had about Natural Family Planning... and for that reason, I am considering not posting in here anymore. If you could have gone back and read my post with a rational head, you would realize that I posted only facts which I would have gladly posted documentation for. Furthermore, I never discounted NFP as a tool for people. I simply questioned the way in which NFP was presented. In my opinion, NFP is a wonderful way for responsible, self-knowledgeable, monogamous, and careful people to control their fertility. However, like any form of birth control, there are cons. I didn't feel like the posted message conveyed this, and so ...I responded with my opinon. Since I posted, I discussed the post and my response with the original poster and we have come to a consensus... as far as I was concerned, that was the end of it. As I said though, since then...I've received a lot of grief for that one post. Which, I refuse to apologize for (that comment is specifically to the person who said I needed to "apologize or find another group to listen to me"- you know who you are!). This forum is supposed to be about women coming together to exchange feelings, thoughts, and information in an informative, sympathetic, and cohesive forum... I agree, this is not the place for "attacks". But at the same time, those who post messages have to be ready for disagreement. And, quite honestly, I didn't see any of those posts as attacks. If, in fact, that's how they were taken by the original poster than I will once again extend my apologies TO HER!!

Yeah, I did!! But, that doesn't alarm me so much as the feeling and passion behind the posts. I suddenly felt like I was "disagreeing with the pope during mass!". It also makes me wonder when I see people jump on this mass bandwagon mentality... like, hang the messenger of the news you don't want to hear. Egads!!! - :)

please continue to post in here! i really enjoy your posts and you seem to be very knowledgeable about a lot of subjects, which can tend to upset certain people when they subject that you know a lot about opposes what they support. basically, there's a lot of immaturity in this world, and i'd hate to see some of the worst of it chase you away.

please consider staying.: )

Thank you for your kind words. I really like this community, it's been fun and helpful for me. :) I just hate it when someone misinterprets what I say... anyway... I'll be hanging around! :)

You know, it's not that I can't handle it...I just worry about those who are less able to stand up for themselves...or accept commentary that seems to oppose their own feelings. THis was just a learning point for me. :) But, it's nice to know you're watching!

I've got an eye in there, but this seemed to happen quite quickly!

I haven't had to remove anyone from the hut yet, thank goodness, but being harsh and mean are counter to the idea of the community.

thank you for posting the caveats you did. i was having similar thoughts but don't know enough to post a well-educated comment, just something like "but it can't always work, specially if you're not regular, right?"... your post provided a lot more information that I, for one, wanted and appreciated.
